A member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and the American Academy of Interventional Pain Management, William Midian, MD, currently serves as Director of Pain Management Services at Village Pain and Rehab Associates, Inc., in Uniontown, Ohio. Since he accepted the position in 1996, Dr. Midian has specialized in interventional pain management, a relatively new field of medicine which deals directly with helping the body manage and mediate pain. Using fluoroscopy, acupuncture, prolotherapy, and other innovative approaches, William Midian, MD, has succeeded in minimizing the chronic and acute pain experienced by his patients as a result of injuries, illness, or other factors.
While he was employed at Village Pain and Rehab, William Midian, MD, also provided pain management services at Barberton Citizens Hospital in Barberton, Ohio, from 1996 until 2008. While there, Dr. Midian was instrumental in establishing the hospital’s pain clinic, where his introduction of fluoroscopy-guided interventional pain management made it the first clinic of its kind in Summit County.
From 1990 until 1994, William Midian, MD, served as Staff Anesthesiologist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, where he specialized in open-heart anesthesia. Dr. Midian also has experience as an emergency-room, urgent-care, and intensive-care physician. He completed his surgical training at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, and at Wright State University School of Medicine in Kettering, Ohio. After receiving his BA from The University of Akron in 1971 and earning his MD in 1976, Dr. William Midian enrolled in the Fifth Pathway Program at the University of St. Louis School of Medicine, completing the program in 1980.
